The Linksys EtherFast NAS EFG120 is a capable solution for your home or small business, with some nice features.
The EFG120 has two removable 3.5-inch drive bays, each lockable, so you can expand the amount of storage easily. It can also act as a small-office file and print server, but unfortunately is limited to a single parallel-port printer.
With a feature set nearly as complete as that found on the Buffalo TeraStation (minus the RAID 5 array), the 80gb EFG120 offers user- and share-level security, as well as user group configuration. In addition, an administrator can decide whether to create a generally accessible share or a user-specific share, which can be used as a private home directory. If data security is a concern, you can buy a drive for the second drive bay and back up locally. The 80gb EFG120 can also be your DHCP server. There is no RAID option here, however, and to our surprise, the only port offered is Ethernet.
Although the EFG120 has a lot of great features and a user-friendly, thorough interface, it simply doesn't offer as much bang for the buck as the TeraStation in terms of storage capacity and complete functionality.
